About

What We Do

At the Olde Town Spice Shoppe, our mission is to enable our customers to better enjoy time with family and friends through food. Our continued goal is to offer high-quality spices/herbs/seasonings, teas and specialty food items at a fair price, in an informative and inspiring environment.

We're a family-run spice shop located in historic St. Charles, Missouri.

With over 50 collective years spent in the grocery business and avid family cooks, we bring our passion for food to the shop. We truly believe family, friends and food create great memories.

We seek to bring affordable, fresh and quality ingredients for your cooking, including food spices, teas and gourmet food items. Our barbeque rub made especially for ribs is award-winning. Other items like our fresh vanilla beans, seasonings blends, Greek seasoning and bulk teas bring our customers back again and again.

The Olde Town Spice Shoppe™ is located in the home of one of the first physicians in St. Charles County, Mo., built in 1811. The brothers, Dr. Millington and Dr. Seth were famous for their botanical gardens and also owners of the castor oil factory. They planted approximately 50 acres of the castor bean plants which was grown and pressed into castor oil in 1802. St. Charles became the center of the castor oil industry.

Awards

Our long list of customer testimonials are the biggest award we could ever receive, but having formal recognition is also nice. We were named Saint Charles Retailer of the Year in 2013- recognized for our contributions to the community.

The Olde Town has been fortunate enough to have been featured in both Feast and Sauce Magazines, showcasing our specialty foods and allure for all kinds of cooks. Additionally, you can often find us on local television stations sharing tips and recipes with the Metro St. Louis audience.

We placed in the 2017 Sauce Magazine Readers poll under the Specialty Food category.

There is Always Something Exciting Going On

Our shop is located in a thriving historic district alongside the Missouri River. A remake of Huck Finn was filmed on our very own cobblestone streets- so come experience our slice of Americana here in the Midwest. Local festivals are frequent in our area, along with a summertime local Farmers Market. Additionally, we often have local vendors handing out samples of their delicious wares in our store.
